CHALLENGE
HOMELESSNESS
Shelter Stories is a student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to challenging the misconceptions around homelessness globally, and creating a better future for homeless individuals. Our projects include a podcast, blog, and food distribution across the community.
We need to change the way we think.

Currently, there is a strong stigma and sense of resentment against people experiencing homelessness. They are reduced to stereotypes that do not paint the real picture.
At Shelter Stories, we aim to challenge the stigmas associated with homelessness and draw attention to the root causes that leave over 150 million people around the world without a place they can call home.

Mission to Support
“Homelessness is the absence of home. It is not just a lack of a roof over one’s head, but also about being deprived of physical, emotional, and social security, and a stable place to live in peace, dignity, and safety.”
